Morin commits to San Diego State

Last week, Matt Morin was all but sure he would wait for more offers before he made his college decision.
But apparently, he's grown tired of waiting.

Morin committed to San Diego State on Saturday and ended his recruiting process.
"The more and more I thought about it with my dad, we thought it was a great fit for me," Morin said. "It's close to home. They can come watch me. It's a great school and they're up-and-coming, so it's a great decision for us."
Morin is a three-star, pro-style quarterback who is 6 feet 2, 217 pounds. He had offers from Arizona State, Colorado State and SDSU, and was confident UCLA and USC would throw an offer his way as well. But in the end, he felt the Aztecs were the best fit for him.
So he called SDSU quarterbacks coach Brian Sipe on Saturday and told him the news.
"I told him I wanted to be an Aztec," Morin said. "I'm really pumped about my verbal commitment and I'm ready to be an Aztec and I told him how pumped I was.
"He was happy about that. He put me on the phone with coach (Rocky) Long and me and him talked about things that are going to happen when I'm there. It was good."

"When I get in there, I'm going to have to compete because nothing's given to me," Morin said. "And that's fine with me. I'm a competitor and that's what I love to do."
Morin said he plans on taking an official visit to SDSU in the fall and will likely attend the Aztecs' Family Day scrimmage next Saturday at Qualcomm Stadium.
