Its official: SDSU inks two three-stars
Three-star recruits Skylar Spencer and Matt Shrigley have been verbally committed to San Diego State for months, but on Wednesday morning, they finally made it official.
Both signed their letters of intent before noon on Wednesday, and are now bound to the Aztecs as much as SDSU is bound to them.

"Lots to get excited about today," head coach Steve Fisher said. "We have received, got back and now are legal to talk about our two signees that we're extremely thrilled about."
Shrigley was the Aztecs first 2012 commitment, pledging all the way back in June. He's a 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard from La Costa Canyon High who led his team to the San Diego Section Division I title as a junior. He posted 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.6 blocks last year, and chose the Aztecs over Boston College, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, St. Mary's, USD, San Francisco and Washington State.
"We've recruited him since he's been a freshman in high school," Fisher said. "He's very skilled, very athletic, will fit how we play, can play multiple positions, very good student, outstanding young man, and an exceptional basketball player. We're thrilled to have Matt."
In fact, so are SDSU's players. Since he's a local product, he's been able to get in several open gym runs with the Aztecs at the ARC this summer. He's dunked on a few of SDSU's players and has made his fair share of big baskets running with the Aztecs.
"Shrigley is real good," point guard [db]Xavier Thames said. "He can shoot the ball, he's real athletic. He knows how to play really well. I like playing with him. He's a good kid. He'll have a bright future here."
Spencer, meanwhile, will go down as SDSU's biggest recruit since Kawhi Leonard. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward from Los Angeles (Calif.) Price High is ranked No. 124 on the 2012 Rivals150 list and ranks No. 34 nationally at the power forward position. Spencer joins Leonard and Marcus Slaughter as the only three Rivals150 players to sign with SDSU out of high school this decade.
"Skylar Spencer fills a tremendous need: Big," Fisher said. "He will also bring an ingredient of winning and skill level that will help continue the progress that we've made."

"It was a big day for me," Spencer said. "It means a lot to see all the pieces finally coming together."
The 2012 duo join a pair of SDSU transfers that are technically part of the Aztecs' 2012 class as well: Dwayne Polee and J.J. O'Brien, who signed their LOI's in the summer.
On paper, this class is SDSU's best recruiting class ever, barely edging out the 2009 class which brought in Leonard, Malcolm Thomas, Chase Tapley and Alec Williams.
"You put the two (Polee and O'Brien) with the two incoming players," Fisher said, "it's a wonderful four-person recruiting class."
The scary part is SDSU might not be done. The Aztecs still have their eyes on Matt Willms and Winston Shepard, who both have not signed an LOI and aren't expected to until the spring. While Willms is expected to eventually end up at UNLV (a source close to the situation said it was a "done deal" a few weeks ago), Shepard is still very high on SDSU.
"Hopefully, I'll cross my fingers, we're not finished," Fisher said. "Hopefully we will be able to sign another in the spring. Hopefully we'll add to that. I feel really good and our fans should too with what we'll bring in with next year's class."
