Burns Dismissed from SDSU Basketball Program

SAN DIEGO - Evan Burns has been dismissed from the San Diego State men's basketball program for failure to meet his academic responsibilities Aztec men's basketball coach Steve Fisher announced Friday.
"We put a premium on the importance of the complete student-athlete at San Diego State and Evan was unable to meet those expectations," Fisher said. "He had every opportunity to fulfill the commitment he made to this program and the University but unfortunately he did not do that."
Burns, the 2002-03 Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year, averaged 9.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 26 games last season. He continues to be enrolled in summer school classes at the University.
