Sykes, Trevillion commit to SDSU

San Diego State landed commitments from two out of state athletes near the end of their official visits on Sunday morning: Chandler (Ariz.) three-star athlete Dionte Sykes and Brookhaven (Miss.) athlete Fred Trevillion.
Sykes (a former UCLA commit) had some serious ties with the SDSU coaching staff. His uncle, Jashon Sykes, is the team's Director of Operations.

Dionte's father, Kelron, played at Oregon State when San Diego State head coach Rocky Long and defensive line coach Osia Lewis (Sykes' primary recruiter) were coaching in Corvallis at the time.
"My visit was perfect," he said via text. "I'm coming in as an athlete so I'll most likely play defense. It's just the best thing to do for me and my family. I know the coaches will take great care of me and make me into a better man."
Sykes was hosted by SDSU wide receiver Kene Anigbogu. He has an official visit scheduled for Utah State this weekend and still plans to take it.
Trevillion chose San Diego State over an offer from ULM. He is currently on his flight back home and will be available for comments later today.
