JR Justice commits to San Diego State over Arizona, USC

San Diego State’s recruiting class of 2018 made a big splash on Monday with the commitment announcement from a local hometown hero.

San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine receiver JR Justice announced his commitment to the Aztecs via Twitter in a two minute video. Justice chose SDSU over Arizona and USC and held offers from all over the nation.

SDSU became the first program to offer Justice after a dominant showing at the team's passing tournament last summer. He was clearly talented back then and only continued to get bigger, stronger and faster every during his junior season.

Offers piled up as he quickly developed into a two-way star player, lining up all over the field for the Saints while maintaining a predominant role as the quarterback.

On the local scene, Justice soared up the list of San Diego's top-heavy talent for 2018. While there are many local prospects that have the ability to develop into star college players, ASR considers Justice as having the most complete, college ready skill set to make an impact right away at the next level.

With the commitment, his future is taking the first steps of heading toward that direction.

Justice, son of former MLB pro David Justice, will line up at wide receiver for the Aztecs in a year where the team will see its two starting wide outs and star running back graduate. Quarterback Christian Chapman will be a senior and Justice will also have an opportunity to contribute on special teams right away.

At 6-3, 200 pounds, Justice is an extremely physical player who bullies his way down the field before hauling in smooth catches. He doesn't get slowed up at the line and he covers ground extremely fast - tracking the ball like a center fielder would - and he's as dangerous as it gets in the open field.

Add that with his strong hands and composure and Justice may very well end up becoming the gem of this recruiting class.

The recruiting implications of his verbal pledge also shouldn't be understated. The 2018 class is bound to see an immediate impact with Justice leading the way as an early Aztec commit. He's very well known around the county and will only make the perception of San Diego State become stronger with local recruits.
