Adams preparing for official visit

Early in the summer Nelson Adams made the decision to commit to Mississippi State.

Now the Brandon, Miss., three-star defensive end will finally have the opportunity to take his official visit to Starkville to get an even better idea of his future surroundings.

"I expect it to be very fun," Adams said. "I leave Friday for Starkville and leave on Sunday so I expect it to be a fun weekend. I kind of know what to expect. They've given me a schedule of what all we're going to do. I know we're going to eat a lot. We're having dinner at Coach (Dan) Mullen's house and hanging out with the players."

Adams played defensive end for Brandon but could shift inside once he reaches college. The 6-foot-5 Adams is already at 292-pounds and plans to be around 300-pounds by the fall.

Adams was the Bulldogs fifth commitment for the 2012 class and kept up with them throughout the year. He was impressed with their 7-6 season which included their second bowl win in as many years.

What impressed Adams the most however was Chris Wilson's defense.
