Changes on the O-Line
Georgia coach Mark Richt feels he needs to make changes. With just three weeks remaining until Oklahoma State rolls into Athens for the opening game of the 2007, he is tweaking who will play on the offensive and defensive lines.
"I walked into the offensive line meeting this morning with
Kiante Tripp and the linemen cheered, because they know they need help," said Richt. "When a new lineman comes in, they get excited."
As speculated on UGASports last Saturday, Tripp is the obvious choice to move from the defensive to the offensive line. He was ranked the No. 9 offensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.com coming out of Westlake High in Atlanta in 2006, but was slated to play defensive end from day one in Athens.
Tackle Chester Adams has been sidelined with a high ankle sprain but is
expected to return in the next week, but Richt said that he could move inside if Tripp works out at tackle. Others out with injury are guards
Scott Haverkamp and Tanner Strickland, and tackle Josh Davis.
